Video Clip No. 5 -- "Cable Cars of Yesterday" A collage of pre-1906 earthquake cable cars, ending with a brief 1905 motion picture journey down Market Street, featuring the large size cable cars of the five (5) Market Street United Railroads of San Francisco lines (formerly, Market Street Cable Railway). The movie clip was originally produced on 16mm film to test the potential for moving pictures at the turn of the century. Its modern digital conversion makes the action seem "speeded up."
