REMOVING THE OLD GEARBOX A custom rig with a massive I-beam and a beam trolley was required to safely lift the gearbox. The hydraulic gantry crane's I-beam is rigidly supported by a 100 ton capacity hydraulic ram on each end. 
The gearbox is secured to the crane and ready to lift. 
    Moved to the shop floor away from the moving cables on a 50,000 lb. capacity transport cart.   A coupling being removed from the worn unit to be reused on the newly refurbished gearbox.  INSTALLING THE NEW GEARBOX |
